System Info Dashboard Widget Manual

A Simple System Overview Inside WordPress

Many WordPress plugins try to give you technical information through large settings pages, complex dashboards, or unnecessary reports.

System Info Dashboard Widget takes a simpler approach.

It adds a clean dashboard widget to your WordPress admin area and shows the most useful system details at a glance. Instead of digging through hosting panels, plugin pages, or WordPress tools, you can see the most important server and site information directly on the main Dashboard screen.

This is especially useful when you want a quick overview of your site environment without unnecessary clutter. It can help with general maintenance, plugin setup, troubleshooting, and support checks.

The plugin is intentionally lightweight:

  • No tracking
  • No telemetry
  • No analytics
  • No unnecessary settings page
  • No front-end output

What This Plugin Does

System Info Dashboard Widget adds a dashboard widget in WordPress admin and displays a quick summary of useful technical data.

Depending on your server and WordPress setup, the widget can show:

  • WordPress version
  • WooCommerce version
  • PHP version
  • PHP memory limit
  • Max execution time
  • Server software
  • MySQL version
  • Active theme name and version
  • Number of active plugins
  • WP Debug status
  • GeoIP availability
  • Object cache extension availability
  • Server time
  • Client IP address
  • Server IP address

The widget also includes a REFRESH DATA button so you can reload the displayed information without refreshing the whole Dashboard page.

Requirements

To use the plugin, you need:

  • WordPress 6 or newer
  • PHP 7.4 or newer

WooCommerce is optional. If WooCommerce is not installed or active, the widget simply shows that it is not installed.

The plugin is designed for WordPress admin use only. It does not display anything on the front end of your website.

Installation

  1. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Click Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload the plugin ZIP file.
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. Click Activate.

After activation, the widget appears on your main WordPress Dashboard.

Where to Find the Widget

Open:

WordPress Admin → Dashboard → Home

The plugin adds a widget called:

System Info by LitePlugin.com

If your dashboard layout has multiple widgets, you can move it like any normal WordPress dashboard widget.

Quick Overview

If you just want to start using the plugin right away, do this:

  1. Activate the plugin.
  2. Go to Dashboard → Home.
  3. Locate the System Info by LitePlugin.com widget.
  4. Review the displayed system information.
  5. Click Refresh Data if you want to reload the values.

That is all.

There is no settings page and no complicated setup.

What Each Item Means

WordPress

This shows your current WordPress version.

It is useful when checking compatibility with plugins, themes, snippets, or support documentation.

WooCommerce

This shows the active WooCommerce version if WooCommerce is installed and active.

If WooCommerce is not active, the widget shows that it is not installed.

PHP

This shows the PHP version currently used by your site.

This matters because themes, plugins, and WordPress itself often depend on a minimum PHP version.

Memory Limit

This shows the PHP memory limit available to your site.

It can be useful when troubleshooting memory-related issues such as plugin conflicts, image processing failures, imports, or fatal errors.

Max Execution Time

This shows how long a PHP script is allowed to run before the server stops it.

If the value is shown as Unlimited, your server does not enforce a standard time limit for script execution.

Server

This shows the server software reported by your hosting environment.

Typical examples include Apache, LiteSpeed, or nginx-related server strings.

MySQL

This shows the MySQL or compatible database server version used by your WordPress installation.

Theme

This shows the currently active WordPress theme name and version.

It is useful when checking whether the correct theme is active or when comparing theme versions during troubleshooting.

Number of Plugins

This shows how many plugins are currently active on the site.

It gives you a quick idea of how lightweight or crowded the site setup is.

WP Debug

This shows whether WordPress debugging is currently enabled.

If it shows ON, WordPress debug mode is active.

If it shows OFF, WordPress debug mode is not active.

GeoIP

This shows whether GeoIP-related support appears to be available in the current environment.

This can be useful for sites or plugins that rely on geographic detection.

Object Cache

This section shows whether common object caching extensions are available on the server.

These may include:

  • Redis
  • Memcached
  • APCu

This does not necessarily mean object caching is fully configured and in active use by WordPress. It simply shows whether the related PHP extensions are available.

Server Time

This shows the current server-side time used by WordPress.

It can be useful when checking scheduled tasks, cron behavior, logging times, or timezone-related confusion.

Client IP

This shows the detected IP address of the current user (admin request).

Depending on your hosting, reverse proxy, or CDN setup, this may reflect the request IP as seen by the server.

Server IP

This shows the IP address of the hosting server where your WordPress site is running.

This can be useful when identifying the server environment, debugging hosting-related issues, or verifying infrastructure details.

Refreshing the Data

The widget includes a Refresh Data button.

When you click it, the plugin reloads the widget data through WordPress admin AJAX. This lets you refresh the displayed information without reloading the full Dashboard page.

This is useful when:

  • you have just changed server settings
  • you have activated or deactivated a plugin
  • you want to confirm the current values again

Who Can See the Widget

The widget is intended for administrators and users with sufficient permissions to manage site settings.

It is not meant for normal site visitors and it does not appear on the front end of the website.

Performance and Site Impact

The plugin is lightweight.

It only runs in the WordPress admin area and only adds a single dashboard widget. It does not load unnecessary front-end assets and it does not create background tasks, reports, or scans.

For normal use, its impact is minimal.

Privacy

System Info Dashboard Widget is privacy-friendly by design.

The plugin:

  • does not send data to external servers
  • does not track users
  • does not use analytics
  • does not collect or transmit diagnostic reports

All displayed information is read from your local WordPress and server environment.

What This Plugin Does Not Do

To avoid confusion, this plugin does not:

  • create a separate settings page
  • monitor uptime
  • scan for malware
  • benchmark server performance
  • guarantee that caching is fully configured
  • replace your hosting control panel
  • display anything to front-end visitors

Its job is simple: show useful system information in a clean dashboard widget.

Real-World Use

This plugin is designed for practical everyday use.

It is useful when:

  • checking a site quickly after migration
  • reviewing the environment before installing another plugin
  • confirming versions during troubleshooting
  • helping clients understand the current site setup
  • getting a quick technical overview without opening multiple pages

It is not meant to be a giant diagnostic suite. It is meant to be a fast, convenient snapshot of the most useful environment details.

Final Notes

System Info Dashboard Widget is intentionally simple.

You activate it, open the Dashboard, and the information is there.

No bloat. No tracking nonsense. Just a clean overview of the current WordPress and server environment in one place.
